Ive had flashbacks that never occurred while im sleeping?

its happened 3 or 4 times and im murdered in each one. theres no dream or anything to go along with it, just the part where i die. they all feel so real, i even slightly feel the pain. it hasnt happened in almost a year, but ive always been curious. is it just a dream?
