Do you guys think that an earned run should be awarded when a pitcher has an error on a scoring play?
Situation: Runners on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out (just for an example), pitcher gets a groundball back to him and overthrows the first baseman, 2 runs score on the play. That would be 2 un-earned runs. But, if the pitcher makes the error don't you think he should be charged with 2 earned runs because they both scored because of HIS own error? Same with a runner reaching base on a pitchers error then eventually scoring... I think that should be earned also, but what do you guys think?
