Advice on how to handle this coach?

My kid is on a travel team and was having confidence issues with hitting. We asked the coach permission to place her in rec as well as travel to help her work on her issues, the coach gave permission. Our child missed a total of two practices which were cleared with the coach beforehand. Now the coach is saying that my kid who is the most successful second-baseman they have will play in the outfield for missing practices. My child would not have missed one practice if the coach had given any indication of it not being alright. We brought this up, and the fact that our child is one who had confidence issues which were successfully worked through to make her a major play-maker on second putting this kid in the outfield and replacing with a child who can't field a ground ball won't make sense to our child and our child wouldn't have missed a single practice for a rec game if you hadn't approved it. The worst of it is the kid they are putting in my kids place can't field a ground ball and is the reason we have lost games. I feel like telling the coach to go ahead put the best second-baseman in the outfield and loose every game you play while we wonder why you tell us something is ok and then change your mind suddenly without talking to us.
