What ever happened to Joe Crede?

He played third baseman in MLB and was formerly Chicago White Sox world series champion from 2005. I know he was very injury prone with back problems, and all that I have read to date shows that he signed some Colorado Rockies contract, but never showed up to training. He has gone AWOL. Anyone know what is going on with him? He was my favorite third baseman on the White Sox behind Robin Ventura, and I have no clue if and ever he might play again. Thanx!
