Need help finding title of certain romance book?

Read this book than lost it. Story of a girl whose friend was corresponding with man out west with two kids & intended to go out & marry him. The friend dies I believe so the girl heads west & takes the place of her friend. She begins falling in love with the man, loves the children - but man thinks she isn't strong enough to survive out west, so sends her home, or so he thinks. She ends up staying in town & opens a hat or dress shop. Eventually guy comes to town finds her, loves her, happily ever after. Familiar to anyone??
